Dancing does a body good. They say that music excites certain parts of our brains in a way that only sound can do. Nothing else quite like it. To bring you back to a distant time, to ease pain, calm people’s nerves, help relieve stress. You name it, music does it. And this is why I’ve dedicated this blog to sound. Yes, I know it’s about Home Theatres, but it’s okay everybody. Why? Well, because Home Theatres are also about sound. I’m just getting down to the heart of the matter and talking about the smallest piece of the puzzle. Gettin down to the nitty gritty. And the nitty gritty is NOT the smallest Home Audio Component in the system, it’s even smaller than that.

It’s interesting, because we can really do this in life too. Take a problem, and really look into it and see what the real root of the problem is. It’s usually very simple, and if you can fix it, it can have a domino effect and fix the entire problem. I know I might be talking a little existentially for everybody, but you should really think about it. No harm in thinking about it, right?

Thank goodness it’s Friday! Not that it’s been a particularly hard week, but that just sounds like the right thing to say right about now. I’m supposed to watch the latest Sopranos tonight at my friend’s house on her Dvd Home Theater system since I missed it the first time around. Her TV isn’t as big as ours, but I can’t be picky. It’s already Friday for goodness sake. I only have 2 more days until the next one rolls around, and I can’t get backed up. Not with this show. I’ll sit comfortably in my Home theater Chair and keep my mouth shut.

It’s going to be over before I know it anyway, and I would regret it if I hadn’t been properly attentive. Who knows what I’m going to do when it’s over? What with 24 being over at almost the same time? It’s going to be a whole new day, that’s for sure. Maybe I’ll FINALLY have time to chip away at my monstrous to-do list. I had no idea being a 16 year-old in Los Angeles came with so many responsibilities!

Are they for real? Or are they quacko like Jacko? Who knows honestly. I had my first experience today, and I have to say that I’m really unsure whether or not I buy into the whole thing. I think that I would have perhaps believed it a little bit more if the guy hadn’t been so into my insurance and checking it out and THEN determining treatment. Just kind of interesting, that’s all.

You see, I had a bit of a back problem when I was moving my Divinci Surround system yesterday. Don’t look at me like that guys! I was just moving the Wireless Speaker aspect of it, jeez. I would never deliberately risk my back like that! That’s crazy talk.

Anyway, I went to the Doctor, but I’m still not convinced about him. I think I just need to take matters into my own hands and get massages on the regular. A good massage will cure just about anything.

You guys may not know this about me, or maybe you do and you’re just being nice and not saying anything, but I’m very much a food connoisseur. Oooo laaa laaa, a fancy word, eh? When you look up connoisseur in Wikipedia it said someone who is “very well acquainted with something”. And I am extremely well-acquainted with food. Intimate, even.

The sweet potato is one of my steadys too. It’s very much in the repertoire. I would say on average that I eat 3-4 sweet potatoes a week. I’ll be reading about JVC speakers in one hand and in the other will be a juicy sweet thing just waiting for my fork to pierce the skin into the healthy deliciousness.

Food and home theater systems, those are two things of which my connoisseur-ing status should never be questioned. As a matter of fact, just like I AM home theaters, I AM food.

Guess what? Me and the fam are taking a little vacay to Sedona next week. Yes that’s right. Vacation, all we’ve ever waaanted, vacation HAD ta get away! We’re very very very excited, to put it mildly. We had a bit of bad luck last year, and we’re turning it around. What’s done is done. We’re movin on.

So I regret to inform you that the Home Theater Review process is going to be on hold for a few days next week. You guys are ready for it though. You have enough Nakamichi expertise to go out into the world and make that decision. Besides, this way I’ll be perfectly refreshed and ready to go when I DO get back to work. Hmmmm, now that I think about it, if this is work, shouldn’t you guys be paying me?

On one of the Sopranos episodes a couple of weeks ago, Corado (aka Uncle Jun) said that when he was a boy he refused a quarter that a rich lady offered him. His dad got really livid at him and said, “What’s wrong with you. You no like-a eeeat?” It was a lesson well-learned, and Junior never refused money again. I’m just telling you this story randomly, BUT, if you guys insist on giving me a little “taste”, who am I to refuse? You do what you’ve gotta do, and I’ll do the same.

As I sit hear in class listening to my iPod to salsa (which should only be danced to and never just listened to by the way; it’s such a tease), I can’t help but think of how amazing it would sound on a Divinci Surround Sound system. Jeez. It would be heaven on earth. Te lo digo yo.

I miss salsa, I haven’t danced in the longest. My friend is in Cuba right now on an educational trip, and I couldn’t be more jealous! Just for the dancing. The amazing dancing that she must be doing right now. WOW. Maybe I need to go there too? Just to properly write a review on the Bose 3 2 1 in Spanish of course (wink wink). Seriously, the dancing there MUST be incredible. The energy on that little island. Uepa! I’ll take it.

Well, if you read my previous post, you’ll know that Miss Sarita herself has been watching quite a few shows on the telly lately. And it’s catching up with her. I honestly feel like you have to make a choice. It’s either writing Home Theaters reviews for all y’all, or working on my fitness. I’ve been trying to do both, unsuccessfully I might add. So it’s high time I made a choice. And the choice is….. hold on to your Wireless Speaker boxes for dear life…. the choice is YOU GUYS!

Yes, that’s right, the choice is home theater systems. I can always do a couple sit ups during the commercials, right? Yeah right. Being realistic never has been one of my fortes. But honestly, I pledge my allegiance to you guys. Not to the treadmill. What has the treadmill done for me lately? I still intend to get my sports on every now and then since I’m an active girl, but I’ve definitely made a serious decision here. I intend to stick with it too.

TJ’s is my new obesssion. And I do mean obsession. I go through phases with the TJ. Some times I’ve just had enough and if I see another wasabi pea or chile spiced mango I just might hurt someone, but today is not that day. You see, TJ and I (and yes, we are on a nickname basis) have a love/hate type relationship, and right now I’m on a love high. Did you know that you’re brain literally produces the same hormones when you’re in love as when you’re considered “crazy”? True fact.

Anyway, I’ve been on an HBO spree ever since we have a new Denon S101 to break in at the house. Sopranos, Sex and The City, Entourage, you name it. I’ve watched it of late. Just sitting there relaxing in my Home theater Chair, that’s where you can find me. And the Trader Joe’s snacks have faithfully been there to accompany me along my journey, which has even a included a few Six Feet Under episodes and Ali G reruns thrown in for good measure. Rest assured, no show was left unviewed at the Home Theater Household. We were extremely diligent. As were the dried rambutan, pineapple, and mangosteen pieces.

Seriously. It’s been one of those weeks for me, and I’m not exactly sure why. It’s important to really sit down and have a look-see though. To really try and figure out what’s really going on.

I’ve been on auto-pilot, or streetpilot I guess I should say. You see, I’ve been in the car quite a bit this week for one reason or another, whether it was to go see my cousins in Irvine or to go see my cousins in the Valley.

Chauffeur sure got good use out of the garmin 72 gps this week. He’s become quite accomplished on matters of the gps nature. It’s a great thing, this technology, but at the same time I wonder how lazy it makes us.

For example, are we losing some of our innate directional skills now that we have machinery like GPS gadgets to do the work for us? Are we losing some of our dating skills when we consistently partake in online dating? And what about our communication skills when we’re on IM and email all day?

Studies have shown that 90% of human interaction is non-verbal. Computers can’t be subsitutes for EVERYTHING I guess. I’m really going to think about that this weekend. Along with why I’ve been in somewhat of a funk. Come Monday, there’ll be a new Sarah in town, that’s for d*mn sure.

I love Andre from Outkast. He’s just so clevah. And smart. And funny. And nice.

I actually saw him in person one time. Star sightings are one of the perks of living in Los Angeles I guess. But yes, there he was in all his glory at the Standard Hotel bar in Hollywood. He doesn’t drink, (from what I’ve read, but isn’t is funny how we feel like we really know stars even though we’ve never met them before in our life?) Anyway, so he was sporting a water.

My friend went up to him and said, “My friend wants to meet you.” Not how I personally would have gone about it, but whatever. She didn’t mean any harm. So I said, “I just wanted to say Stank You for your album,” which I thought was pretty clever if I do say so myself since his album was called Stankonia.

The next week he won an award on MTV or someplace like that and said, “I just want to say Stank You”. I think he got that from me too, if you want to know the truth. No one can ever convince me otherwise either.

He’s a true artist though. Some people make music, some people write a gps review at the tender age of sixteen, some people write amazing books. To each his own.
